The Open House event on the past weekend was a huge success with a handful of families coming in to see the school, some of which signing contracts to begin classes the following Monday – welcome to the MTIS Family.
The promotional event was held in the MTIS Aula from the late morning into the afternoon and offered games, fun, prizes, presentations, and also tours of the facilities. Top notch refreshments and catering from MTIS partner Quattro provided for a great atmosphere.
Music teacher Nik Myers put the day off to a great start, filling the air with music from his grand piano as families began to trickle in the door. The event officially started with director Dr. Vivian Papafakli-Strouza giving a short overview of the day and informative presentation on the school, alongside MTIS’ visionary owner and CEO Hans-Peter Dahlmann. From then on, featured stations throughout the facility entertained and informed the guests and their families for the rest of the day.
M. Ehrlich Sports (sports event management firm) hosted interactive games throughout the building (Laser Accuracy Shooting, Shuffle Board, Cross Bow, Billiards, etc.) which provided for lots of laughs and smiles from children and adults.
Stadler was also present at the event and had MTIS Mountain Bike Coach and German Iron Man Triathlete Moritz Bleymehl manning the virtual reality based cardio bikes from Tacx which are used at the school to keep kids fit and prepare them for lifetime fitness.
The soccer academy from MTIS was also present on the day with representation from the very highest levels of German soccer. Juergen Sparwasser and Gerry Mai spent the day discussing their player development system with potential parents and their families.
The chess academy was also came out in full force, presenting their program, lead by world-class chess Trainer David Lobzhanidze who has quickly assembled a large group of students involved in the program already. Top talents within the school, including Leon Hollmann and MTIS math teacher Laurentiu Cretu played against up to 6 opponents at the same time, giving out free lessons in strategy.
The art department at the school also had interactive workshops, while presenting their various programs and highlighting some of the works from the MTIS students.
Events like this integrate MTIS into the community and highlight the many great opportunities the school provides to families looking to provide perspectives for their children through an international education.
At the end of the day awards were given to the top performers from the various event stations and a all walked away with trophies, and lasting memories of a great day with their family at MTIS.
