Leon Hollmann won first place last Saturday (24.9) at a large U16 youth chess tournament by winning 5 of his 7 matches.
At this tournament the matches were played by the Swiss sytem with 20 mintues per player, match (speed chess).
As the higher ages division had less participants than the young ones, the U20 participants played with and against the others and from these matches Leon was able to beat three of the best four players from the U20 division as well.
The player rating system (DWZ-Deutsche Wertungszahl) of his opponents in this tournament was between 1635 and 2086 DWZ.
So after a two year break from chess, Leon was able to acheive a very good result against stiff competition.
