Anna Bahar, Vice President-Europe for AdvancEd pays visit to the Main Taunus International School campus to complete readiness review, in the process of accrediting MTIS to offer the High School Diploma as a leaving certificate, along with the IB (International Baccalaureate).
AdvancED is an accrediting agency that serves over 34,000 schools across the globe, improving the quality of private education. The goal that MTIS has in becoming an AdvancED accredited school is first and foremost to offer the High School Diploma to its graduating students, but also to provide families with assurance of quality, as well as compatibility with quality schools at their next station in life.
School Director Dr. Vivian Papafakli-Strouza and her leadership team greeted Ms Bahar and provided her with a warm reception dinner at her provided accommodation, Hotel Lindenhof in downtown Friedrichsdorf. This set the stage for great things to happen.
Bright and early Friday morning Anna Bahar began her readiness review of the school. This comprehensive audit started with greetings, a presentation from school leadership, and a review of the rigorous documentation that was completed by the school months prior to Ms Bahar’s visit. Thereafter followed a facility tour and thorough inspection of all aspects concerning the school, as well as interviews with and evaluations of the entire faculty, staff, and administration.
After treating Ms Bahar to a stroll through downtown Friedrichsdorf and a a well-deserved lunch break at La Montanara, the readiness review was concluded and general feedback and impressions were shared with the MTIS leadership team. A formal report from Ms Bahar’s visit will be available in the following weeks, however, her general impression was that the school is way ahead of schedule and that no problems are foreseen in the approval process as the school was so thorough with their documentation and the visit went so well. 2018 is the planned first year for graduating students at MTIS to receive the High School Diploma.
Head of Secondary School Archie (Buddy) Tobias couldn’t be more pleased with the performance of his team in this stiff test of quality under the first few months of his leadership.
“Having such a dedicated and experienced team makes a total difference. MTIS is very lucky to have such an all-star cast on hand as it strives to become a premiere international school.”
The conclusion to this story is a clear one; onward and upward to new great heights for a school community that deserves the very best.
